Been Having Too Much Fun!

I apologize for the lack of pictures lately. I don't have any ready to go up right now but I thought I'd update you on what I've been up to.

I am 9, count 'em, 9 months old!
I am HUGE. 21(ish) pounds huge.
I have a whole head of hair and NO bald spot on the back of my head.
I am surprisingly strong and can eat a TON (not literally, not 2000(?) pounds).

And these are just a few of the things I can do (consistently and incessantly):

Crawl so so fast! Creatively with one foot and one knee. But 2 feet when on hard floors.
Cruise along the couch/ottoman/other various furniture.
Let go of the couch/ottoman/other various furniture and stand steadily, all by myself, like it's no big thing, for a heck of a long time until the mere thought of taking a step ruins everything.
Climb UP on the couch via finger and toe holds in the cracks of the couch and ottoman.
Eat every single teeny-tiny-invisible-to-grown-up-eye piece of anything on the floor (this results in mommy vacuuming more often than ever).
Squeak, squak, screech, sing (to my own tune of course) and yell in Braedenese.
Scoot strategically-placed chairs, boxes, ottomans out of my way to get to the good stuff.
Wiggle up on the bottom shelf of the changing table and proceed to chill.
Fingerpaint (mom calls this "eating") with avocados, bananas, and mashed potatoes.
Laugh, snort, babble, clap, wave, poke, pinch, and oh-so-much more.

I promise (to nag mom) to get some new pictures ready to go up. I am wildly adorable these days and I really think the blogging world should know.

White Christmas

On Christmas morning we had a good time opening our presents.

I got some new pj's and pacifiers in my stocking. Mom and Dad gave me this awesome boat for the bathtub!

Grammy, Grandpa and Erin gave me some cool stuff too.

I sure am thankful for all the great gifts I received!

We got along great. I kind of didn't want to leave his big comfy lap. Between his buttons and his beard, I could've played there all day. And that funny girl with the pointy ears and the squeaky toy, she was a hoot.

I love my new highchair. Thank you Nana! I spent two hours in it this morning. I wish I could count, I'd tell you how many times mom picked my toys up off the floor.

4 Month Doctor Visit

We went to the doctor today! Dad gave me a boost to see the fishies in the waiting room. Silly little things they are.

And I had a grand time with that loud, crinkly paper on the bench! I wrestled it around me and into my mouth where it I slobbered the life out of it.

So here's what the Doc had to say: I weigh 16 pounds and am in the 75th percentile for weight. I am 26 1/2" long and am in the 95th percentile for length! I gotta catch up to my Dad, you know. Also, I get to have some rice cereal soon but I really can't wait to try all those other mushy foods!

Highway 101 Roadtrip!

Our first stop was Cannon Beach, Oregon. That is Haystack Rock behind us. It is 235 feet tall - whoa!

This is at Chetco Point in Brookings, Oregon. It was a fun little hike with some amazing views out at the point. It used to be an old wharf and you can still see some old pilings. There was a fisherman fishing off those rocks in the background. Who knows how he got out there!

Finally we made it to the Redwood National Forests! This is at the Del Norte Coast State Park, outside of Crescent City. That's a big stinkin tree.

This wasn't even near the biggest trees in the park, but provided a good photo opportunity. What a happy family!

At the Trees of Mystery we rode the Sky Trail high above the trees. It was 570' high and so fun but so scary! Mom was the most freaked out but deep down I think she loved it. It was a slow and nerve wracking 7-minute ride to the top where we got out at the viewpoint and looked around. To one side was the ocean and the other was beautiful California mountains! This might've been the best part of the trip.

Apparently Paul Bunyon and Babe the Blue Ox reside at the Trees of Mystery. Paul was even taller than my Dad! I even got my own little Babe that I love to chew on.

Here are Daddy and I at Fern Canyon in the Prairie Creek Redwoods State Park - yes, that's us way down there in the corner. Parts of Jurassic Park were filmed here. It's a skinny little canyon with 50' tall walls covered completely in ferns! It was such a beautiful walk through the canyon.

On our way out of Fern Canyon we stopped to check out the California coast! I was really mesmerized by those waves. Mom and Dad both got soaked by waves that were a lot bigger than they looked!

We saw lots of other great things like wild elk, sea lions, lighthouses, lots and lots of cool bridges, and a ton of amazing views along the coast! It's good to be back to my crib but that sure was one awesome road trip.

I had my first bottle! It was different being fed by Dad but once I realized what was going on I devoured the whole thing in no time.

I was really happy about something.

And yesterday I went to the park with Mommy and Auntie Erin.

On Wednesday Mommy, Daddy and I are leaving on a road trip down the coast! We are taking 101 down and I-5 up. Stops will include Tillamook, Cannon Beach, Redwood Forests and more. We will be back next week so keep an eye out for lots of pictures!

Ocean Shores!

Mom and Dad took me to Ocean Shores with some of their friends! We camped right next to the ocean and had so much fun!

That water must've been cold. My Dad is nuts!

I wasn't the only baby there. My friends Silas and Karolyn came too!

When do I get to chase the seagulls?!

On Friday Mom and Dad bought a "Baby Bjorn" so they can carry me around hands-free. It sure is a cozy ride!

Happy Birthday Aunt Marilyn!

A couple weeks ago, we spent the day in La Conner for Aunt Marilyn's 80th birthday. It was a really nice day and it's so beautiful up there!

Here I am hanging out with Grammy. I guess I won't be wearing that shirt anymore. Mom loves it but it's not supposed to be a belly shirt (not matter how many times you pull it down)!

There was a lot of other family there too. It's too bad I didn't get pictures with any of them! Thanks to Uncle Mike for the pictures I did get :)

First Trip to Beckett Point

It was Memorial Day weekend and we spent some time enjoying the view of the bay. The weather was great but all that fresh sea air wore me out and gave me a case of the yawns. Did anyone else notice that the air smells different up there? What's up with that?

It was chilly outside after dark so Mom bundled me up good and Dad built a little fire on the beach. It was late and we were sleepy so we didn't stay out long.

The next day we went for some walks but, if you know me at all, you know I can't resist a bumpy stroller ride! Zzzz...

Later that evening the adults watched some movies and, once again, I nodded off. Maybe next time I'll stay awake a little longer and experience more of the cabin :)
